paid positions

Class Teacher

Class teacher required from September 2012 for a new class 1 of a small group of children age 6-7. Norwich operates a combined class system, so in September 2013, another group of 6-7 year old children will join the first group to form a class 1/2.

A positive attitude to the challenges that face a young Steiner school, a love of children and a willingness to work with parents and other colleagues is essential.

A Steiner teaching qualification and experience are desirable, but we offer flexibility and a supportive environment, which could allow the right candidate to complete their Steiner teacher training whilst in post.

Starting salary £17,500- £18,500 per annum

Closing date for applications Friday 9th March 2012 with interviews during the week commencing 19th March 2012.

New Trustees

We are currently looking to recruit new trustees. Our ideal candidates will have experience in Education and Leadership and so for example, this post may appeal to an ex-head or deputy head teacher.

However, we are also interested in broadening and deepening the skills of our existing trustee body in other ways and so would additionally welcome applications from candidates with skills and experience in areas such as Child Protection, Special Educational Needs, Finance and Personnel. This is not an exclusive list of skills, but outlines some of the core ones required in a school governance team.

As Norwich Steiner School is still a young and developing school, trustees currently meet fairly regularly – around once per month. Meetings are generally during the daytime, although existing trustees would be able to meet in the evenings instead if necessary.

Norwich Steiner School does not generally appoint parents or close relatives onto its trustee body, to avoid potential conflicts of interest which may otherwise arise; however, we may exceptionally consider doing so for candidates who demonstrate proven ability in the skills identified above.

If you are interested in become a trustee of Norwich Steiner School, please contact the school for an application form or download one from our website. If you wish to talk to someone about the post, please contact the Chair of Trustees, Lucy Parker on 07952 792250.

Applications for volunteer positions listed above will be considered as they are received, with a view to immediate appointment of suitable candidates.
